Summary
There are few single resorts to rival Alpe-d’Huez for extent and variety of terrain – in wintery conditions it’s one of our favourites. But as the season progresses the effects of the strong southern sun become more and more of a problem.
If you don’t like the look of the village, think about the smaller bases, especially Vaujany.
