Summary
Bansko is an old town, set on a flat valley floor in the scenic Pirin National Park, and catapulted into the 21st century by the installation of modern lifts and a lot of lodgings. Most reporters like what they find, and many make repeated visits. But the main gondola up to the slopes struggles to cope with peak time queues. Once on the mountain, the terrain is quite varied, with some long runs to suit intermediates and a good beginner area.
