Summary
Brides-les-Bains is a quiet spa town in the valley below Méribel, and is connected to it by gondola. The main attraction is that the place offers a cheaper alternative to the higher resorts and makes a sensible base for visiting other ski areas in the region. The gondola up to Méribel is a long, tedious ride that does not run in the evenings; it accesses a couple of small hamlets on the way up, which are also possible places to stay.
