Summary
Few other major French resorts are based around what is still, essentially, a genuine mountain village that exudes rustic charm and Gallic atmosphere. Combine that with more than 200km of largely intermediate slopes (if you add in nearby Le Grand-Bornand), above and below the treeline, and there’s a good basis for an enjoyable, relaxed week. Snowmaking is continually increased, but of course it makes no difference if the temperatures are too high.
