Review of Les Menuires

19th August 2008 by Andrew Heard

Stayed in le Bettaix, which is a small village below Les Menuires. This small resort is linked to the main slopes by a blue run and a couple of two-person chairlifts to get you back to the village. This adds 20 minutes at the start of the day, but the lifts open early so it is not a major issue (although getting out of bed was). Ski schools etc are all in Les Menuires.

The resort itself is very very basic - only one restaurant in the village and this is quite expensive (as it is the only one). This was fine for us as we were in a catered chalet, so could have a drink outside at the restaurant when we came back, but were fed and watered elsewhere.

There is a ski hire shop in the Le Bettaix village where you can get everything you need, without any queues and the service was fairly good.
