Review of Canyons

Visited in February 2007 for 2 weeks .This was our 2nd visit .Vast area by US standards. Liked the new dreamscape area very much. Wasn’t as much snow as usual due to freak January weather conditions which resulted in very little snow but extremely low temperatures. Luckily we had 2 1/2 feet of snow while there (and the resort had another 4 feet in the week after we left). We stayed with my brother in law in town and we like the atmosphere in main street. Park City is very upmarket, so accommodation and restaurants can be pricey. Mountain restaurants in the Canyons very good. Signposting much better than most European resorts. Ski school good value especially for private tuition (we had powder skiing lessons and managed blacks that I never thought possible). Salt Lake city is a good day out and very safe by US standards. We took the kids to NBA game. I would suggest if new gear is required to wait and buy in Park City or Salt Lake. I bought the kids new Burton gear, boots and snowboards for ridiculous prices.
