Review of Grindelwald

21st February 2006 by William Anthony

We have returned to Grindelwald five years running, mainly because of the quality and welcome of the hotel Belvedere! With four children, the main inconvenience is the morning queues and the location of the nursery slopes (above the village, accessible only by bus). Once up the mountain, the skiing is great and the ski schools are faultless… this year (2006), taking our smallest two children for the first time, we found the chore of getting to and from the nursery slopes too much and we’ll go elsewhere next year. The resort is incredibly expensive and the atmosphere is suitably exclusive, as are the stunning views. Powder Byrne seem to be over-running the place, such is the number of repeat visitors.
