Review of Zermatt
The following has been copied from a posting to the Resorts forum thread, by Bill T (Feb 08). Bear in mind that it was not originally intended to be a full resort review, so may cover a narrow area of interest.
Have just got back from Hotel Perren in Zermatt. Hotel Perren was excellent, and is in the Inghams brochure. This is about 200 metres from the Sunegga funicular, which takes you up to Rothorn - about the most easy intermediate bit, although crowded. The run to Furi is one of the nicest bluish reds, if pisted, but it usually isn’t. The skiing is generally all at the hard red/easy black level, with few opportunities for letting your mind wander, except on the runs down the glacier from the Klein Matterhorn. The big Bump run was closed when we were there. Nice apres ski, charming resort, but pavements very icy.
