Review of Park City

10th March 2013 by carronbrae

We stayed at the Lodge at Mountain Village so right next to the slopes. Found it extremely easy to get there with 2 flights, and a shared shuttle so no need for a hire car especially with the frequent and free shuttle bus services to the supermarket, the town centre and Deer Valley and Canyons right outside our door. We were there for 5 days at the end of January/beginning of February. The snow was described as ‘lean’ even though we had about 6 inches in the first couple of days there. It was also very cold most of the time. It was very quiet during the week but long queues on the Saturday. The skiing is reasonable but limited and if we went again would probably prefer to stay at The Canyons. The centre of the town is very good with lots of restaurants and shops open late at night. There were also quite a few good restaurants at the Mountain Village. Booking through the Park City Mountain Resort was very easy indeed - one of the best websites I’ve come across in that it tells you exactly where your accommodation is and how you get to the slopes from there (either ski-in/ski-out, shuttle, walk or drive), and you can book airport transport and lift tickets at the same time. Very friendly resort.
