Review of Megève

Hi,
Had a great time in Megeve at half-term in Feb this year.
We stayed at the excellent Chalet la Giettaz (yes, in La Giettaz) run by UK ex-pats Chris and Miranda. The Chalet has 12 top notch self-catering apartments in an old hotel halfway up the Col des Aravis of Tour de France fame. Views are stunning. There is a bar in the barn where excellent evening meals are served on 24 hours request. (Sunday is roast dinner night!) Fresh bread is delivered every morning and to top it off, fresh milk is available from the farm next door.
It is about 5 mins drive to the local slopes at La Giettaz, but these were never busy. This gives access to the whole Jaillet side of Megeve which seems to be much quieter all round than the Mont d’Arbois side.
We also enjoyed several morning coffees and lunches ar les Alpages de Porrez just off the run of the same name down to the Jouty lift. Excellent outdoor BBQ with frequent handfuls of thyme adding a fantastic fragrance. Mixed grill is superb!
