Review of Åre

20th April 2016 by teha

Yep it was years ago, but COLD week in January 2012.

AS Dom Stated, Olympia lift was already on it’s Place and running when we visited.

This year 2016 the “night skiing” was scheduled as follows - DUVED - Tue, Sat 22/12-12/3* ÅRE - Mon, Fri 11/12-11/3* BJÖRNEN - Sun, Thu 20/12-13/3* between 18.00-20.00 most variety being offered in Åre and Wednesday being saved for BIG parties with no skiing during the evening.

After our visit 2013, they have also changed the Tegefjäll T-bar to Quad, added a Fjällgårdsexpressen (6-pack) beside the Tottliften which is T-bar, but remain in use and changed Sadelexpressen (6-pack) to replace the old T-bar and lengthened the lift to begin from the “valley”.

So if you liked Dom review it has just gotten even better, but remember to avoid Mid February to mid March, when the swedes and we Finns have our winter holidays and gather to our resorts to “enjoy” the gueues.. =)

In my opinion best time to visit Finland or Sweden would be week 6 or 7 - JUST before the BIG hassle wiiks begin. Or right after them 10-12 should you look after perfect snow conditions.

Would you like to save loads of money postpone the trip after Easter and the ticket prices will drop like cows tail. What ever the weather might be, there will still be snow until 1st may, though not all around.
