Summary
Zürs and its linked neighbour Lech are the most fashionable resorts in Austria, each able to point to a string of rich and celebrated regular visitors. But a holiday here doesn’t have to cost a lot more than in other resorts in the Alps. The village is much smaller and quieter than Lech. It has nothing resembling a centre, and is rather spoiled by through-traffic, but it offers a rare and attractive combination of impressive snowfall, some of the area’s steeper slopes and deeply comfortable hotels offering a truly personal service from their family owners. And thanks to the huge developments of 2016 it is now well placed for exploration of Stuben and St Anton without the need to take overcrowded buses.
