Sum-up
A relatively mild week is forecast, with a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, but no significant snow in prospect.
Forecast from 29 March
Austria
Most Austrian resorts should stay dry this week with plenty of sunshine. However, some cloud will bubble up at times with just a small risk of a shower (snow above 1800m) in the north and west.
France
Most resorts will see some sunshine on Tuesday and Wednesday, but cloud will bubble up each day with a risk of showers (snow above 1800m) and even the odd rumble of thunder. Widespread snow is not expected, but 5-15cm is possible in some favoured spots above 2000m. Any showers should die out on Thursday, with predominantly sunny weather expected as we approach the weekend.
Italy
Most regions will stay dry this week with plenty of sunshine, but a few showers (snow above 1800m) are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday, especially across the western Alps. Predominantly sunny weather should return on Thursday and Friday.
Switzerland
Tuesday and Wednesday will see a mixture of sunny spells, scattered showers and a little snow in places above 1800m. These should die away later in the week with increasing amounts of sunshine.
Outlook
High pressure will reassert itself later next week and over the weekend, with lots of warm spring sunshine expected.
